Welcome to
Rutland
Water
Parishes

Rutland Water Parishes was formed in 2002, from the now suspended benefice of Edith Weston with North Luffenham, and Lyndon with Manton, together with the parishes of Empingham and Whitwell. In 2006 the group was expanded by the addition of the parishes of Pilton, Preston, Ridlington & Wing.
The ten parishes are growing together, sharing services, financial matters, and eventually a common Parish Magazine. Although the ten parishes are not a formal benefice, we use this term throughout this website to refer to our group of parishes. We trust that this will not cause any confusion.
The benefice is in a delightful part of the East Midlands. It touches the south, east, and parts of the north and west shores of Rutland Water, the largest reservoir in western Europe, when built some thirty years ago. It is now a centre for outdoor activities, including sailing, wind-surfing, bird-watching, walking and cycling. It is an SSSI, a Special Protection Area, and the location for the annual British Bird Fair in August.
We welcome you to join us in our worship, at any of our ten churches. Please refer to other pages on this site for details of services.
We publish a monthly Parish Magazine, which is distributed free to all homes in the benefice.
Our Benefice Choir support our choral efforts at the 11:00 am Parish Communion, at Empingham and North Luffenham; and all other major services.
